Table Tennis & its myths

Every sport has its myths which are considered to be true by the general public.
Table Tennis has no less , I would say even more than most other sports as there is lot of difference in the level of game played by general public and that played internationally.

1. Table Tennis is just a simple game and not a sport
Anyone can pick table tennis racket and start enjoying rallies straight away.
You don't need hours of practice to get your hands on it.
But the level of table tennis played by general public is way low then what is played
internationally and unfortunately most consider this as the whole sport of TT.

2. Table Tennis is a only a sport of fast reflexes
When you watch a table tennis match, it seems that the players are hitting the ball too fast
without giving much thought about technique.
Being a good TT player is not alone having good reflexes. It also requires sound technique
about placing the ball in the right direction making it hard for the opponent to return the ball.

3 Table Tennis requires no fitness level
As a beginner you need not require any fitness training or fitness schedule to get started.
You can just walk upto the table and start playing, unlike football or tennis where your
fitness level holds a key to your performance.
But here people fail to understand that when you are playing at international levels you need to have
fastest of reflex actions in this world and a hell good fitness level.
